ALTNAGELVIN HOSPITAL

NEON SPIRAL PUBLIC ART INSTALLATION

The sculptural centrepiece of the hospital reacts to its environment as a spiralling neon flex slowly alternates between cooling and warming colours depending on the temperature to create a continually changing ambience.

LILIES PUBLIC ART INSTALLATION

The courtyard sculpture was formed from a cluster of sculpted steel lily pads which respond to the environment, changing colour according to the temperature. Each lily is carved with the names of Derry-Londonderry’s most influential people.

Working on many different levels, this interior floor installation of over 100 different typographic stainless steel oak leaves – referencing the fact that the word Derry comes from the Irish for Oak – lists Derry-Londonderry’s most influential people.
